The Dark Secrets of Planned Parenthood
Do you know how Planned Parenthood truly began? Did you know that Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood and self-proclaimed "Woman Rebel," was a eugenicist? What I am about to tell you will rock your world—and this post only scratches the surface of the darkness behind Planned Parenthood.
Many women have fallen for the misconception that Planned Parenthood exists primarily to care for women’s health. While that may seem true on the surface, the reality is far more sinister. Shockingly, much of the information I’m sharing comes directly from Planned Parenthood’s own website. While the organization tries to distance itself from Sanger and her beliefs, the facts—and the data—tell a very different story.
Margaret Sanger’s Background
Margaret Sanger was born in 1879 in New York to a family of Irish descent. Her mother had 11 children but conceived 18 times. Sanger believed her mother’s premature death at age 50 from tuberculosis was a direct result of those pregnancies. This belief shaped her life’s mission.
Sanger became a nurse and made it her goal to provide "birth control for women." However, her advocacy went beyond contraception. Sanger was a proud socialist and a committed eugenicist. She believed society should eliminate those deemed "unfit" and worked to make birth control—including sterilization and abortion—available as a form of population control.
She worked closely with Lothrop Stoddard, a known white supremacist and member of the Ku Klux Klan. In fact, in 1926, Sanger even spoke at a KKK women’s rally in New Jersey.

Directly From Planned Parenthood
Here is a quote from Planned Parenthood’s own website:
"Sanger believed in eugenics — an inherently racist and ableist ideology that labeled certain people unfit to have children. Eugenics is the theory that society can be improved through planned breeding for 'desirable traits' like intelligence and industriousness. In the early 20th century, eugenic ideas were popular among highly educated, privileged, and mostly white Americans. Margaret Sanger pronounced her belief in and alignment with the eugenics movement many times in her writings, especially in the scientific journal Birth Control Review.
At times, Sanger tried to argue for eugenics that was not applied based on race or religion. But in a society built on the belief of white supremacy, physical and mental fitness are always judged based on race. Eugenics, therefore, is inherently racist."

Sanger supported the infamous 1927 Buck v. Bell Supreme Court decision, which allowed the government to forcibly sterilize people without consent. This ruling laid the foundation for tens of thousands of involuntary sterilizations—often targeting minorities and the disabled.
In her own writings, she promoted the goal of a “cleaner race” and stated, “All of our problems are the result of overbreeding among the working class.” The racism is not subtle—it’s explicit.
Planned Parenthood’s Ongoing Legacy
Even though Planned Parenthood has tried to distance themselves from Sanger, the eugenic agenda is still apparent today. Take a look at where Planned Parenthood clinics are located: the majority are in predominantly Black and Hispanic neighborhoods. That’s not a coincidence.
Let’s look at the abortion rates by race:
“According to the Departments of Public Health of every state that reports abortion by ethnicity; Black women disproportionately lead in the numbers. For example, in Mississippi, 79% of abortions are obtained by Black women; in Washington, D.C., over 60%; in Georgia, 59.4%; in Alabama, 58.4%. In state after state, Black women are aborting at two, three, or more times their representation in the population.”
Black women are five times more likely to have an abortion than white women. A study from Protecting Black Life found that 79% of Planned Parenthood’s surgical abortion facilities are located within walking distance of Black or Hispanic neighborhoods. This was a calculated move that aligns directly with the original eugenics agenda.
Planned Parenthood by the Numbers
According to the Charlotte Lozier Institute:
In 2020–21, Planned Parenthood performed 374,155 abortions.
Abortions made up 97.2% of their pregnancy resolution services.
Only 1.6% were prenatal services (6,244), 0.7% were miscarriage care (2,653), and 0.5% were adoption referrals (1,803).
For every 1 adoption referral, they performed 208 abortions.
From their financial report:
Planned Parenthood had $1.9 billion in income and over $2.3 billion in net assets.
$694.9 million came from private contributions.
Taxpayer funding was $670.4 million, making up 35% of total revenue.
Since 2010, taxpayer funding has increased by 37.5%.
Their profit margin last year was $204.7 million.

Women Deserve Better
I’ve heard stories from women who walked into Planned Parenthood seeking an abortion but were unsure of their decision. When they asked to see their ultrasound, they were denied and treated with a coldness. Why? Because the sight of a baby’s heartbeat is often enough to change a woman’s mind. And for Planned Parenthood, abortion equals revenue.
Women who decide to keep their babies are often treated coldly and ushered out. This is not care—it’s a business built on loss.
The Pro-Life Alternative
This is why it’s critical that we support our local pro-life clinics. Many of these centers do offer contraceptive care, ultrasounds, STI testing, and even abortion pill reversal. Most importantly, they offer real compassion and informed choices—not pressure and propaganda.
These women need love, support, and truth. Babies of every race matter. We are all made in the image of God.
Thankfully, under the Trump administration, millions in federal funding were cut from Planned Parenthood. But we must keep fighting. This article does not even scratch the surface of what Planned Parenthood has done and the history behind it.
